The Lebanese Navy Rescues Illegal Migrants

The Lebanese naval forces successfully rescued illegal Syrian migrants from a boat heading for Cyprus during a rescue mission on Tuesday.

The Lebanese army announced that fifty-four people, including children, were on board the makeshift boat, which was about to sink off the coast of northern Lebanon, when it broke down.

Lebanon has been grappling with a severe economic crisis since 2019, leading to an increase in illegal emigration attempts.
