After 11 years of mixed-up taxi prices from Beirut Airport, the Public Works Ministry finally stepped in with a clear, fixed fare system. No more guessing games—now travelers can know exactly what they’ll pay, no matter where they’re headed in Lebanon.
Starting Tuesday, all taxis from Beirut’s airport follow one set of prices, pegged in dollars or Lebanese Lira. This ends the decade-long mess of random fares and surprises. Drivers caught ignoring the rules face strict penalties.
Travelers can quickly check the official rates by scanning QR codes on airport screens or grabbing leaflets at passport control. It’s a simple way to see exactly what your ride should cost, making your trip smoother from the very start.
Alongside the fare fix, major repairs are happening on the 8-km road between the airport and downtown Beirut. After damage from last year’s conflict, the road is being resurfaced and upgraded with new signs and lights—making your ride safer and quicker.
