Beirut Ranks Among The Most Expensive Cities In The Arab world!
Beirut ranks as the 113th most expensive city globally and the 6th highest among Arab cities in Numbeo’s latest Cost of Living Index, covering 178 cities in the first half of the year.
Despite Lebanon’s ongoing crisis since 2019, which has reduced many salaries, Beirut still ranks 9th regionally with a score of 45.2 points.
The city’s affordability issues are compounded by its low quality of life. In Mercer’s winter 2023 ranking, Beirut was 184th out of 241 cities globally and 14th in its region.
Beirut’s data is based on 689 entries by 62 contributors over the past year, close to Numbeo’s city average of 68.5 contributors.
