EDL Employees Declare Three-Day Strike
The Electricité du Liban (EDL) workers’ union announced a three-day strike starting today and continuing until Sunday, May 10, to protest the state electricity providers’ delays in adjusting salaries to match the triple-digit inflation rate since October 2019.
Employees of EDL and other public institutions have regularly protested the depreciation of their salaries, which remain significantly lower than pre-crisis values despite government adjustments.
