French President Emmanuel Macron called for urgent efforts to prevent Lebanon from being drawn into another war, stressing the need for both Israel and Hezbollah to halt their military operations.
Macron said Lebanese authorities had assured him they are ready to assume full responsibility for security across the country and take control of positions currently held by Hezbollah.

He also announced that France plans to reinforce its cooperation with the Lebanese Armed Forces by supplying armored transport vehicles and providing additional operational and logistical support.
On the humanitarian front, Macron highlighted ongoing aid efforts, including medicines and shelter for displaced families, as part of France’s support for Lebanon. Earlier in the day, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun had asked Macron to urge Israel not to carry out strikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs after the Israeli military issued an evacuation warning for the area.
