Germany And Canada Ask Their Citizens To Leave Lebanon

The German Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on its nationals on Wednesday to “leave Lebanon immediately.”

The warning came after a meeting of the German government’s crisis unit on Wednesday.

The Canadian government has taken a similar step, advising its nationals living in Lebanon to “book a flight out of the country” and “avoid the area along the borders.”

According to the message addressed to Canadians living abroad, the recent clashes “could lead to an escalation of hostilities in Lebanon” and thus threaten their safety.
