Israel Withdraws From First Lebanese Border Town Under Ceasefire Agreement

Israeli forces withdrew from a southern Lebanon town, handing it to the Lebanese army under U.N. coordination, marking a key test of the Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire.

The Lebanese army said today it has deployed units to five positions around the town of Khiam coinciding with the Israeli army’s withdrawal.
The Lebanese army warned civilians to stay out of Khiam until it can clear the area of any unexploded munitions.
