RT correspondent Steve Sweeney and cameraman Ali Rida were injured in an Israeli strike while covering events in southern Lebanon. The attack has raised concerns over the safety of journalists reporting from conflict zones.
Ali Rida indicated that the strike seemed deliberate, pointing out that both journalists were clearly identified as press by their uniforms. The incident took place near Al-Qasmiyeh Bridge, a location known for recent tensions in the region.

The two journalists were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Sweeney underwent a procedure to remove shrapnel from his arm, while both received care for minor injuries sustained during the attack.
In a separate video, Ali confirmed that both he and Sweeney were unharmed. He added a surprising note of humor, mentioning that the experience of a missile flying toward them was unexpectedly audible.
