The Italian embassy in Beirut, through the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), has announced an additional 2 million euros for improving the education sector in Lebanon to enhance the learning environment for students and teachers.

The new support, to be implemented by UNICEF, will enhance education access by rehabilitating and solarizing at least three public schools in Lebanon.
The Italian Ambassador to Lebanon Fabrizio Marcelli made the announcement during a joint visit to a public school with the Lebanese Minister of Education Abbas Halabi and the UNICEF Representative in Lebanon Ettie Higgins.

Marcelli said that since 2017, Italy has been committed to fostering inclusive and high-quality education in Lebanon by providing around 60 million euros, which have been used to rehabilitate 107 public schools so far.
