Lebanon’s Education Ministry is preparing to roll out a free internet package to help students continue learning online, especially as the war makes it difficult for many to reach their schools.
Telecommunications Minister Charles Hajj asked the country’s two main operators, Alfa Telecommunications Lebanon and Touch Lebanon, to create the special plan so students can keep attending their online classes without interruption.

The initiative is mainly aimed at students who have been displaced or cannot safely travel to school, giving them the chance to continue their lessons from home and avoid falling behind in their studies.
The package will offer 20GB of free internet, available Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM, which matches the usual hours for online classes. It will work only on approved educational platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Madrasti, along with other platforms approved by the Ministry of Education.
