Lebanon, a country grappling with economic and political turmoil, finds itself among the lower tiers in the recently released World Happiness Report (WHR) 2024.

The report, which evaluates life satisfaction levels based on data from 2021–2023, placed Lebanon in the 142nd position.

A stark observation from the report noted that countries like Lebanon and Afghanistan witnessed a drastic decline in their life evaluations, halving their base values.

Conducted by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network, the WHR 2024 delves into various aspects of happiness, drawing insights from more than 140 countries.

Lebanon’s low happiness index is due to a mix of factors, such as economic struggles and social tensions. These issues are a reflection of the country’s ongoing challenges that are affecting the overall well-being of its people.

As Lebanon continues to navigate through these turbulent times, the findings underscore the pressing need for substantial changes to pave the way towards a brighter and more prosperous future for all its citizens.
