Lebanon’s Ministry Of Economy And Trade Goes Digital!

Lebanon’s Ministry of Economy and Trade has gone digital, becoming the first public administration to implement e-government and committing to full digitalization by 2024.

With support from UNDP and LDF, the Ministry launches the “National Strategy for Digital Transformation Towards E-Government,” targeting corruption and improving service efficiency.

Prime Minister Najib Mikati launched on Tuesday at the Grand Serail the new electronic services of the Consumer Protection Directorate, emphasizing their importance for progress and reform.

Mikati underscored the digital platform’s alignment with anti-corruption efforts and economic recovery plans, urging Lebanon’s swift transition into the digital era.

For his Part, minister of Economy and Trade, Amin Salam, highlighted digital transformation as pivotal for economic recovery, acknowledging Lebanon’s slow progress in this regard.

Salam emphasized the fight against corruption as a key motivation for digitalization, which is crucial for Lebanon’s public and private sectors.
