The ongoing war has caused around $67 million in damages to Lebanon’s telecom operators, including Ogero, Alfa, and Touch, according to a report from the Ministry of Telecommunications.
In a statement, the ministry explained that the study aims to identify the funds needed to support the southern populations who remained in their villages and towns.
It also aims to secure resources for relief agencies, hospitals, and schools to maintain communication services, provide internet for online learning, and ensure connectivity in shelters.
The telecom sector emphasizes that these figures show the urgent need to maintain communication for southern residents, displaced people, and critical services.
