Trump Announces 10-Day Ceasefire Agreement Between Lebanon And Israel

Ceasefire deal confirmed after high-level talks

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that an agreement has been reached with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to begin a 10-day ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel.

Implementation details and planned White House meeting

Trump said the ceasefire will take effect at 5 p.m. U.S. East Coast time, adding that he will invite both Netanyahu and Aoun to the White House for what he described as the first serious talks between Israel and Lebanon.

Diplomatic efforts and U.S. coordination role

He noted that representatives from both sides had already met in Washington on Tuesday in the presence of Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Trump also assigned Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary Rubio, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine to work with both parties toward what he called a “lasting peace.”

Regional reactions and support for the agreement

Earlier, Lebanon’s presidency confirmed a phone call between President Aoun and Trump, during which Aoun welcomed U.S. efforts to secure a ceasefire. Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam also welcomed the announcement, calling it a long-standing Lebanese demand since the beginning of the conflict.
