World Bank Approves Funding To Support Lebanon And Aid Those In Need

The World Bank is stepping in with $350 million to support Lebanon as it slowly recovers from its economic crisis. The funding is aimed at helping the country’s poorest families and improving basic public services that many people rely on every day.

Cash Support and Stronger Safety Nets

The largest share of the money—$200 million—will go toward strengthening Lebanon’s social safety nets. This project focuses on expanding cash assistance for families in need, with special attention to women, young people, and other vulnerable groups who have been hit hardest by the crisis.

Going Digital to Make Life Easier

Another $150 million will be used to speed up Lebanon’s digital transformation. The goal is to make government services easier to access online, cut down on paperwork and delays, and help businesses interact with public institutions more smoothly.

Helping Lebanon Move Forward

Together, these two projects are meant to ease daily struggles for citizens while modernizing how the government works. By combining social support with better digital services, the World Bank hopes to help Lebanon stabilize and rebuild more efficiently.
