Lebanese-Bulgarian weightlifter Karlos Nasar won Olympic gold by setting a world record in the men’s 89 kg weightlifting in Paris!
The 20-year-old athlete, born in Paris to a Lebanese father and a Bulgarian mother, lifted 180 kg in the snatch and 224 kg in the clean and jerk, achieving a total of 404 kg.

He finished ahead of Colombia’s Yeison Lopez (390 kg), who took silver, and Italy’s Antonio Pizzolato (384 kg), who took bronze.
