Landline area codes have undergone a significant shift for fiber-optic subscribers in Lebanon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n This means that area codes 01, 04, 05, 06, 07, and 08 have been substituted by 21, 24, 25, 26, 27, and 28, respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n Many callers discovered this accidentally when trying to reach other subscribers and called Ogero to inquire what the problem was.<\/p>\n This decision was taken four years ago but was only just put into effect without any announcement.<\/p>\n In 2020, the then-Minister of Telecommunications, Talal Hawat, announced the decision would be implemented \u201csoon.\u201d<\/p>\n\n
