Coptic Museum Hosts Historical Exhibition

The museum opened the exhibition last Tuesday under the title of “Hedaya and Hekaya” in order to celebrate Christmas and the New Year. The exhibition sheds light on the tradition of exchanging gifts that comes around Christmas.

The General Manager of the museum: Jehan Attef stated that the museum will last a month and will showcase 12 historical pieces that already exist within the museum. She referred to the most important pieces being A manuscript in Arabic represents the birth of Christ and the visit of the Majus, a bronze cross with scenes from Christ’s life like gospel and birth, A gold pendant painted with an angel informing Virgin Mary of the birth of Jesus Christ and a picture of Saint Nicholas, also known as Santa Claus.
