This is one gang that came straight out of the movies…
This wasn’t just any gang. These criminals had been terrorizing Sahel Selim, running a full-fledged empire of drug trafficking, illegal weapons trade, and violent crimes to expand their control. Their leader? A notorious fugitive wanted for 44 felonies, including murder, armed robbery, and drug smuggling—and he wasn’t alone. Another key gang member had already accumulated 108 years in prison sentences, making them real-life crime lords straight out of a thriller.
El Gezira vibes… “Khott El S3eed” in real life
It didn’t take long for people to draw comparisons to El Gezira, the legendary film starring Ahmed El Sakka as Mansour El Hefny. Just like in the movie, this gang had built a fortified stronghold, stockpiled a dangerous arsenal of weapons, and ruled with fear and violence. It was as if they were running their own version of the infamous “Khott El S3eed,” making them nearly untouchable—until now.
Security forces launched a strategic operation, leading to an intense armed confrontation that ended with the gang’s complete takedown. In an official statement, authorities confirmed that the criminals had been neutralized, and legal actions have been taken against those who survived the battle.
