Researchers At Cairo University Discover A 70M Years Old Nile Turtle

A 70-Million-Year-Old Nile Turtle Found!

Researchers at Cairo University cooperated with The University of El Wadi El Gedid and conducted research that resulted in the finding of a 70 Million-year-old turtle!

The clear water turtle was found as a full shell of a turtle and presumably lived during the age of dinosaurs!

The turtle’s skeleton was found in very good condition as reason of being well preserved in the mountains of El Kharga desert.

The report pointed out that the discovery of the turtle reflects the great importance of the Western Sahara in Egypt as it contains many fossils that emerged in southern Egypt.

Along with countries of Africa due to the climatic conditions suitable for its existence that disappeared in the rest of Africa during this era.
