Following the filming of the series ‘Aziza and Younis’ in Dubai, Tarek El Desouky contracted a rare virus in his eye. This ailment caused severe redness and pus, making him extremely sensitive to light.
As his condition worsened, Desouky found himself increasingly confined to darkness, seeking relief from the agonizing symptoms. Despite seeking help from numerous ophthalmologists in Egypt, his condition remained a mystery, and treatments proved ineffective.
At this critical juncture, Desouky was scheduled to appear in the series ‘Get Married and Smile at Life’ alongside Samir Ghanem. However, his deteriorating eyesight forced him to consider withdrawing from the project.
Determined to inform the production team of his decision, Desouky, with assistance to navigate, made his way to the studio. The series crew was taken aback by his condition, and their concern grew when Desouky announced his intention to drop out.
Upon learning of Desouky’s plight, Samir Ghanem stepped in with remarkable resolve. Understanding the gravity of the situation, Ghanem personally contacted the renowned ophthalmologist Ali Al-Alfi, securing an immediate appointment for Desouky, even though it typically required months of waiting.
Ghanem escorted Desouky to the doctor, who delivered a grave diagnosis: Tarek El Desouky was on the verge of blindness, but his chances of recovery hinged on his response to treatment. With the necessary medications and close monitoring, Desouky’s condition gradually improved.
After several days, the doctor confirmed that he had overcome the critical stage and needed to continue the medication to ensure a full recovery. Thanks to Samir Ghanem’s swift action and unwavering support, Tarek El Desouky was saved from losing his sight.
