Egypt’s population is always on the rise!

Egypt’s population is on a rapid rise, set to hit 117 million by 2030 and a staggering 157 million by 2025, as per Khairat Barakat, head of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS). Chatting on the “Every Day” talk show on “ON” channel, Barakat revealed that Egypt sees a whopping 2 million new faces added to its populace every year.

Egypt’s current population already surpassed 106M

With Egypt’s current population already surpassing 106,050,650, Barakat pointed out that the growth rate has tapered off in the last 5 years, thanks to measures against overpopulation. Delving deeper, he mentioned that Egypt witnesses the arrival of four bundles of joy every minute, resulting in around 5,600 tiny tots joining the world each day—that’s almost like welcoming a newborn every 15 seconds!

Highlighting the stats, Barakat shared that the birth rate in Egypt for 2022 averaged at 2.8 children per woman.
