‘Sout El Horeya’ was one of the very first songs to celebrate the revolutionary feelings in Tahrir Square. In fact, it was released within the first 18 days of the Revolution. The video shows protesters raising banners with their demands and dreams.
Perhaps ‘Ezay’ is one of the most popular songs of the Egyptian Revolution. This is because Mohamed Mounir has been titled as “The Voice of Egypt.”
‘Ya El Medan’ was produced in 2011 to celebrate the people’s solidarity and unity on Tahrir Square during the first 18 days of the Revolution. It is specifically dedicated to “The Square”.
‘Ana Bahebek Ya Belady’ by Aziz El Shaffei and Ramy Gammal. This heartbreaking song was written to commemorate the martyrs of the January 25th revolution.
The Revolution period is the spark that ignited the band, Cairokee. Their choice of lyrics was relatable to the people and voiced their concerns and emotions. Cairokee is still successful to this day because they are close to the people.
