Mawlid al-Nabi, which will be on October 8th, is officially just around the corner. It’s one of our favorite holidays of the year, and that’s in part due to how sweet it is. Ah, nougat. Is it Turkish? Lebanese? Egyptian? Italian? Well, nobody really knows and every country seems to have its own take on it. Personally, we like it with pistachios best. But then again, would we eat it even if it comes covered it dirt? Most likely.
