Adorned with blue eyes and blonde hair, people always contemplated Rahma Hassan’s true ancestral heritage,  people always thought she might have Western heritage! But now, the actress has come out, and admitted that she has taken an ancestry test to determine her true heritage! And guess what? the results came back proving that she is in fact 97% Egyptian!

The story began when Rahma met a Geneticist in the Grand Egyptian Museum, and they agreed that they would analyze to determine her ancestry, after conducting the analysis, the geneticist released the results:

The first analysis is about the “autosomal/AuDNA” origins. The actress’s results were compared to contemporary population references and showed that her genetic makeup is 97% closely aligned with the average origins of Egyptian cities (Giza, Cairo, Alexandria, Beni Suef, and Kafr El-Sheikh). Additionally, 3% of her DNA traces back to North West Africa, with the closest match being Algiers, the capital of Algeria.

When her autosomal DNA was compared to ancient samples, the results showed:

87% from ancient Egyptian mummies,

8% from Kulubnarti (a mix of Egyptian-Nubian origins from the Coptic era),

4–5% Amazigh (with reference to the Guanches of the Canary Islands, who are native to North West Africa).

In simple terms, this confirms that she has authentic Egyptian roots, deeply tied to Africa, a continent with diverse indigenous populations that don’t all share dark-skinned features.

Furthermore, the genetic distances to the Arabian Peninsula, Levant (Syria and surrounding areas), and the Caucasus were very distant, meaning she has no genetic ties to those regions.
