Former Al Ahly player Mo’men Zakaria has been trending since news of black magic being done against him was found near the grave of Magdy Abdel Ghani, the former national team star, as circulated on social media.

The story began when a gravekeeper claimed that while planting a cactus next to a grave in the Al-Bostan area, he was surprised to find “black magic” buried inside three bags. The gravekeeper stated that the bags contained magic, along with a picture of the player Moamen Zakaria, a paper doll, numbers, and mysterious symbols.

The gravekeeper explained that the magic was old and dated back many years, suggesting it was intended to harm the player by causing illness and death. He added that the location where the magic was found is in the courtyard of Captain Magdy Abdelghani’s family, which fueled the controversy and led to the story quickly spreading on social media.

Captain Magdy Abdelghani confirmed that he will file complaints with the Attorney General against anyone accusing him of lying, denying any connection to the allegations. He emphasized that he has not visited the mentioned cemetery since 1984, after his father was buried there. Abdelghani stated: “That courtyard is old, and I now have a new family cemetery elsewhere where my mother was buried.” He also mentioned that he knows nothing about the magic or talismans the gravekeeper claimed to have found.
