A Hospital In Sharm El-Sheikh Will Be Africa’s First Green Medical Facility

Avatar

Egypt has started the 2050 National Climate Change Strategy as part of its increased efforts to combat climate change. The newest move comes in the shape of a green hospital.

Sharm El Sheikh International Hospital is now Africa’s first green hospital

The hospital was the first Egyptian organisation to be registered with the Global Green and Healthy Hospitals (GGHH), a global network of healthcare facilities that employ environmentally friendly practises.

Going green is a component of the nation’s recent preparations for the UN Climate Change COP27, which will be held in the Red Sea city of Sharm El-Sheikh from November 7th to 18th.

During COP27, the Sharm El-Sheikh hospital model is scheduled to be unveiled.

In addition to its programmes to improve transportation services, which include the construction of electric trains to minimise carbon emissions, Egypt has also started a number of initiatives to expand its reliance on renewable energy sources in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
