After accusations of assaulting his wife….Mahmoud Hegazy faces new harassment allegations

Egyptian actor Mahmoud Hegazy is once again at the center of public controversy after being arrested and detained for 24 hours in connection with a new harassment allegation, according to security sources.

The Latest Allegations

The case stems from a complaint filed by a woman, who allegedly accused Hegazy of sexual harassment inside a hotel located in Boulaq Abu El-Ela. Authorities confirmed that the incident dates back to early January, but the woman claimed she delayed reporting the incident due to fear, and alleged threats she said she received from him.

Following the complaint, Hegazy was detained pending investigation, while the Public Prosecution ordered further inquiries, including reviewing surveillance footage and examining communication records.

How They Allegedly Met?

According to the woman’s statement, she and Hegazy allegedly met through social media, and later met in person for what was described as a business-related meeting. Hegazy, for his part, reportedly told investigators that there was prior acquaintance between them and denied any wrongdoing.

Shortly after the news spread, Hegazy posted a Quranic verse on his social media accounts, which many interpreted as a defensive message, suggesting that he believes the truth will eventually prevail. This is not the first time Hegazy has faced legal trouble. in less than a month, Hegazy was named in another case over alleged assault on his wife, the actor publicly denied the accusations, stating that the report was fabricated amid a dispute over travel arrangements involving their child. That case also ended with his release on bail, and investigations were later closed. In the current case, Hegazy was released on bail once again, while investigations remain ongoing.
