Social media users have been sharing a video showing a group of young people playing inside a mosque in Egypt. One of them was swinging from a rope, while another films the scene. A third individual intervenes by shouting and swearing at others, demanding they move away because he is filming.
In a recent statement, the Ministry of Interior clarified details surrounding the controversial video that has circulated widely on social media. According to the ministry, the footage was recorded in 2022 during a period of renovation at a mosque in Dakahlia.
Further investigations led to the identification and arrest of four young men who appeared in the video. These individuals confessed to staging the incident deliberately and filming it with the intent of entertainment.
