Another Case Of Child Marriage Murder… A 17-Year-Old Bride Was Murdered On The Hands Of Her Husband On Her Wedding Night

In extremely tragic circumstances, a child bride was killed by her husband in Al-Fayma village, which is part of the Al-Fath district in Asyut Governorate. The husband beheaded his wife by severing her head from her body just one day after their wedding due to suspicion of her behavior and jealousy.

The security services in the Asyut Security Directorate received a report from the Al-Fath Police Station.

The emergency operations room had informed them of a young man killing his wife in Al-Fayma village, part of the Al-Fath district in Asyut Governorate. Immediately, a security force was dispatched to the scene of the incident.

It was confirmed that a 17-year-old minor was killed by her 23-year-old husband under mysterious circumstances.

The suspect slaughtered the victim and beheaded her on the morning after their wedding.

The body was transferred to the hospital morgue under the authority of the public prosecutor. The accused husband turned himself into the authorities, and a report of the incident was filed. Legal procedures are currently underway, and investigations have begun.

As the story went viral, people on social media wondered when the phenomenon of child marriage would end in Egypt.

 

The 2008 amendment concludes that child marriage is illegal in Egypt; however, some families conduct religious ceremonies and wait until the girl is 18 to register the marriage certificate legally.
