The Public Prosecution Detained Salah El Dein El Tijani For 4 Days On The Charges Of Sexual Harassment
The Public Prosecution in North Giza decided to imprison Salah El Tijani for 4 days pending investigation on charges of harassing Khadeeja Khaled and 3 other women via social media.
The security services at the Ministry of Interior, in coordination with Giza Security directorate, arrested Sheikh Salah El Tijani after a girl accused him of harassing her, and he is being presented to the Public Prosecution and investigated.
The prosecution heard the statements of the three new victims about how they were subjected to harassment by Salah El-Tijani, and each of them said that she used to frequent him in the El-Tijjaniya corner in Imbaba to attend religious lessons and that he used to harass them during their attendance or through online conversations between them.
Investigations revealed that El Tijani denied all accusations against him claiming that Khadeeja suffers from a severe mental illness due to her constant bullying as a child.
Three more women come forward:
Centre for Egyptian Women Legal Assistance announced that 3 more women have come forward claiming that the sheikh sexually harassed them too and asked for legal assistance against him.
Nation Council for Women submits a report to the Public Prosecutor’s office:
The National Council for Women submitted a report to the Public Prosecutor against the sheikh after the Women’s Complaints Office of the Council monitored a post by a girl on social networking sites detailing her exposure to sexual abuse by the sheikh against whom she complained.
In addition to monitoring similar posts by three girls against the same person on social media platforms.
