Actress Aya Samaha has issued an urgent appeal to officials at Cairo University and Egypt’s higher education authorities, raising concerns about alleged animal abuse at the university’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

In a heartfelt post on her Facebook account, Samaha wrote, “The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Cairo University is torturing animals, and the images are too horrific to share.” She continued, “Who is responsible for this violence and cruelty? Shame on you!”

She described watching graphic scenes and unbearable footage of animals being abused in the faculty.
