The Tunisian Film ‘Banat Alfa’ Nominated for Oscars in the Best Documentary Film Category

The Tunisian film “Banat Alfa,” starring Tunisian-Egyptian Actress Hend Sabry and inspired by a true story, has made it to the final list of Oscar nominations for Best Documentary Film, alongside three other films.

It already won the Red Sea Award for Best Documentary Film

The film’s plot revolves around a woman named “Alfa,” who takes care of four girls, and her life takes a dramatic turn when her eldest daughter disappears under mysterious circumstances, leading to a journey in search of her. “Banat Alfa” also competed in the official competition at the Cannes International Film Festival and received international awards. Additionally, it won the Red Sea Award for Best Documentary Film.

The film “Banat Alfa” stars Hend Sabry, Majd Mastoura, Noor Gharbi, Ishraq Matar, Alfa Hamzouni, and is produced by Habib Attia and Nadim Cheikhrouha. It is written and directed by Kawthar Ben Hania.
