A terrifying accident occurred on the Mariouteya axis involving 8 cars. A truck loaded with construction materials collided with the vehicles on Tuesday at the top of the ring road in the Mariouteya axis.

This collision led to the overturning of a car and a minibus, and two cars fell from the bridge, one of which was transporting sheep.

One of the surveillance cameras on the ring road captured the accident, which occurred when several cars had stopped due to heavy traffic from 6th of October City to Mariouteya. Suddenly, a transport vehicle with a trailer loaded with construction materials appeared and collided with the parked cars.

Civil Protection Forces and Security Services rushed to the accident scene to recover the vehicles, search for victims, and transport them to the hospital. Moreover, initial reports indicate that three people were injured.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the driver of the truck, a 33-year-old named Hilal from Sohag Governorate, lost control of the steering wheel, making it difficult for him to consider the distances between vehicles on the road, resulting in the collision.

The authorities have sent the truck’s driver responsible for the Mariouteya accident to Forensic Medicine for a blood sample to determine if he was under the influence of drugs while driving.
