Egypt’s weather is about to take a turn as tropical cyclone “Daniel” approaches the northern coast. The General Authority for Meteorology has issued a 48-hour weather warning, and here’s what you need to know:
Expect some variable-intensity rainfall with occasional thunderstorms in western Egypt and certain northern areas. It’s not going to be a walk in the park, but it won’t turn your daily commute into a swim, despite what some social media chatter suggests.
Cairo will also have its share of rain and gusty winds next Tuesday, so keep your umbrella and hats near.
Cyclone Daniel, originally expected to weaken near eastern Libya, had other plans. It gained strength from a supply of cold air and transformed into a Mediterranean storm, causing a shift in weather dynamics.
While the low-pressure system might deepen over western Egypt, heavy rains and thunderstorms remain a possibility in parts of the country.
Some experts consider Cyclone Daniel more potent than its predecessor, the Dragon Storm. Stay prepared and safe in these changing weather conditions.
