The Media Center of the Cabinet denied the circulation of posts on social media claiming that the government is carrying out a comprehensive campaign to demolish archaeological tombs.
The Media Center of the Cabinet contacted the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, which denied these rumors, confirming that there is no truth to the government conducting a comprehensive campaign to demolish archaeological tombs. It emphasized that all archaeological tombs remain intact and cannot be tampered with, as they are subject to the Antiquities Protection Law No. 117 of 1983

Law No. 117 of 1983 criminalizes any act that damages or demolishes a historical artifact. The state is keen on preserving all types and forms of antiquities, not only for future generations but for humanity as a whole.
