It’s already been an interesting year for Egypt’s national football team, but it seems as though things are taking a turn for the better.

Egypt has been nominated for the CAF African National Team of the Year award

Om El Donia joins Senegal and Cameroon in the running for the continental award.

According to CAF’s official website, footballer Mohamed Salah will also be competing for the Men’s Player of the Year Award against Senegal shot stopper Edouard Mendy who appears in the three-men list for the first time, while Salah has already won the award twice before in 2017 and 2018.

Just last week, Egypt announced its newest national football team coach, Rui Vitoria, who is the third appointed coach just this year. Could this be an omen of good luck?

Back in 2018, Egypt won the national team award, so this wouldn’t be the first time.

It doesn’t end there, though. Egypt’s former coach, Carlos Queiroz, is competing for the Coach of the Year title against Senegal’s Aliou Cisse and Morocco’s Wydad Athletic coach Walid Regragui.
