In a remarkable achievement for environmental sustainability, Egypt has emerged as a leader in recycling rates. Egypt ranked first in the region and fourteenth globally. This significant recognition comes from the Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC). As they have been monitoring and evaluating the country’s recycling efforts.

The latest report released by the IDSC reveals that Egypt has made substantial progress in waste management and recycling practices. The country’s commitment to sustainable development and environmental preservation is evident through its impressive recycling rates. This achievement showcases Egypt’s dedication to protecting its natural resources and highlights the effectiveness of its recycling initiatives.

Egypt boasts 28 recycling factories, which have played a pivotal role in driving up the recycling rates. However, the government’s ambitions do not stop there. Recognizing the importance of continued progress, authorities have set a target of increasing the number of recycling factories to 56. This ambitious goal reflects Egypt’s determination to enhance its waste management infrastructure and optimize its recycling capabilities.

Egypt’s recycling success is due to various factors. The main reason is the collaboration among the government, private sector, and civil society organizations. This approach has led to innovation, investment, and the advancement of recycling technologies. It has also promoted partnerships and knowledge sharing, allowing Egypt to benefit from international expertise and best practices.
