Egypt To Keep The Crossing Border Closed Until Israel Withdraws From Palestinian Rafah

Al Qahera News Channel quoted a high-level source who affirmed that Egypt insists on the withdrawal of military forces from the Rafah crossing as a condition for reopening the Egyptian border.

Earlier this May, Egypt rejected coordination with Israel regarding the Rafah crossing border, due to the severe escalation in Gaza, Al Qahera news channel said.

The rejection came after the Israeli occupation forces announced “operational control” of the Rafah border on the palestinian side.

After the Israeli forces seized the Rafah Border Crossing on the Palestinian Side, not a single aid truck has crossed into Gaza since May 6th.

However, according to Al Ahram, 200 aid trucks from Egypt started entering the strip through the Karm Abu Salem border crossing on Sunday to the UN agencies, instead of the Rafah crossing, per a phone call agreement between President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and US President Joe Biden on Friday.
