The Ministry of Local Development announced on Sunday that the government is aiming to plant 7.7 million trees during the current fiscal year in all governorates

The work is in line with the presidential initiative to plant 100 million trees. The 7.7 million trees will be planted in 9900 sites across Egypt and on an area of 6600 acres.

This comes within the framework of Egypt’s efforts in combating climate change and coincides with the 27th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27).

5 million trees have already been planted by the ministry.
