In-Flight Delivery Leads to Special Gift from EgyptAir

EgyptAir, the national flag carrier of Egypt, made a heartwarming announcement on Saturday, revealing that it has gifted a free lifetime travel ticket to a newborn baby delivered on board one of its flights.

The remarkable event took place on Thursday during flight MS887, operated by a Boeing 737-800, which was in route from Cairo International Airport to Douala International Airport in Cameroon. A Cameroonian passenger went into labor mid-flight, and with the assistance of the EgyptAir cabin crew, successfully delivered her baby at an altitude of 35,000 feet.

Immediate Care and Emergency Landing

Following the successful delivery, the cabin crew provided essential first aid to both the mother and her newborn. Recognizing the need for further medical attention, the flight made an emergency landing at Kufra International Airport in southern Libya. EgyptAir coordinated with Libyan authorities to ensure the safe transfer of the mother and child to Kufra Hospital for continued care.

Resuming the Journey

After confirming the well-being of the mother and her child, the EgyptAir flight resumed its journey to Douala International Airport, completing its mission with all passengers safely on board.

EgyptAir’s gesture of offering a lifetime travel ticket to the newborn has been widely praised as a generous and symbolic gesture, celebrating a life that began in the skies.
