On July 10th, the ‘Fagradalsfjall’ volcano erupted, approximately 30 kilometers southwest of Iceland’s capital, Reykjavik. Despite its eruption in an uninhabited valley near ‘Mount Little Hiker,’ local authorities warned citizens not to travel or get close to it due to potentially hazardous volcanic gases.

But adventurer and travel content creator, Vera Mahmoud, didn’t heed the warnings! She decided to embark on an extraordinary journey by flying above the active volcano, capturing a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Vera said, ‘I hopped on a helicopter for a 40-minute flight over the volcano. I had the front seat all to myself, and there were three other thrill-seekers along for the ride.’

She documented her adventure with photos and videos on social media, sharing the awe-inspiring sights of the erupting volcano. And needless to say, her daring escapade has been creating quite the buzz among her followers!”
