Egyptian Central Bank Increases Daily And Monthly Transaction Limits

The Egyptian Central Bank has decided to increase the daily and monthly maximum limits for total withdrawal, transfers, deductions, or purchases on financial inclusion accounts, prepaid cards, and mobile payment services as follows:

For individuals:

  • The maximum account balance will be determined by the bank.
  • The maximum daily limit is 60,000 Egyptian pounds instead of 30,000 Egyptian pounds.
  • The maximum monthly limit is 200,000 Egyptian pounds instead of 100,000 Egyptian pounds.

As for companies and micro-enterprises that have documents, a physical presence, or can be verified using any other means, the limits are as follows:

  • The maximum account balance will be determined by the bank.
  • The maximum daily limit is 80,000 Egyptian pounds instead of 40,000 Egyptian pounds.
  • The maximum monthly limit is 400,000 Egyptian pounds instead of 200,000 Egyptian pounds.

For companies and micro-enterprises, or self-employed individuals without documents, a physical presence, or the ability to verify using other means, engaged in economic activity under the name “economic activity”:

  • The maximum account balance will be determined by the bank.
  • The maximum daily limit is 60,000 Egyptian pounds instead of 30,000 Egyptian pounds.
  • The maximum monthly limit is 200,000 Egyptian pounds instead of 100,000 Egyptian pounds.
