A hero in the trenches…

Meet Mohamed Tawfiq, an Egyptian Hero doctor who entered Gaza against all odds to help restore sight and hope to many Palestinians. In a post made by Palestinian journalist Ahmed Hijazi, Mohamed Tawfiq is praised for his determination, endurance, and courage.

Hijazi explains in his post that Tawfiq challenged risks by entering Gaza at his own will, and managed to perform 33 eye surgeries in just 13 hours!

He wrote, “This Egyptian doctor who sits exhausted, his name is Mohamed Tawfiq, did not like to sit like the rest and watch, but rather risked his life and came to Gaza, despite the impossibility of the matter and the seriousness of the situation, to bandage the wounds of its people and alleviate its affliction!”

Adding, “He entered Gaza racing against time until he was able to perform more than thirty eye operations in one day, on one breath, without any rest or the slightest break! These are the pride of the true Arabs who have all our love”
