Egyptian Women Above The Age of 25 Will be Able to Perform Hajj Without Mahram Starting March 2024

Hamza Enabi, a member of the General Assembly of the Chamber of Tourism Companies affiliated with the Egyptian Federation of Tourism Chambers announced earlier today that Egyptian women above the age of 25 will be able to perform Hajj without a mahram, starting March 2024.

Enabi has noted in his announcement that the requirement of having a legal mahram with women under the age of 45 during the past years has prevented large numbers of women from traveling for Pilgrimage.

He also told Al Watan Newspaper that by March 1st, women can apply for tourist Pilgrimage without a mahram, pointing out that women under 25 years old will be required to have an accompanying person in accordance with the general regulations governing Egypt’s share of Hajj visas.
