ElSisi Warns Against Any Threats To Somalia Or Its Security- Do Not Try Egypt!

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi emphasized Somalia’s security, during a conference on Sunday, with the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, in Cairo. 

They both highlighted the importance of cooperation and development between their nations. They expressed strong rejection to the agreement between Ethiopia and Somaliland.

El-Sisi emphasized Egypt’s belief in the importance of cooperation and development between nations and issued a stern warning to the countries involved, stating, “Do not attempt to challenge Egypt

Amid ongoing tensions in the Red Sea, the Somali president stressed on the critical role of the Red Sea in global trade, especially for neighboring countries and those in the Arabian Gulf.

While tensions in the Horn of Africa escalated following Somaliland’s decision on January 1st to lease 20 kilometers of its coastline to Ethiopia for 50 years. Ethiopia aims to establish a commercial port in the area, gaining access to the Red Sea. 

This development has a negative impact on Egypt and Somalia in economic, geographical, and political aspects

As a result, President Elsisi warned the neighboring countries by ending his statement “Do not try Egypt,”!
