For the first time since their divorce, actor Ahmed El Awady will be competing against his ex-wife, Yasmine Abdel Aziz, in the upcoming Ramadan season of 2025. El Awady will be starring in the series “Fahd Al-Batal,” while Yasmine will be competing with her series “Wataqabil Habib.” This comes after their previous successful collaborations, including “Elly Maloush Kbeer” and “Darb Nar.”
In a recent interview with ET بالعربي on Instagram, Ahmed El Awady commented on his competition with his ex-wife, expressing his best wishes for her success. He shared his admiration for Yasmine’s work even before their marriage and stated his hope that her new series becomes number one in Egypt. He said,
“Yasmine Abdel Aziz is a major star, and I hope her series becomes number one in Egypt. Even before marrying Yasmine, I was a fan of hers, and I hope she makes a big impact in the Arab world with her new show. I wish her all the best and success.”
Ahmed El Awady will compete in the 2025 Ramadan lineup with “Fahd Al-Batal,” featuring Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Mirna Nour El Din, Nesreen Amin, and Safaa El Toukhy. The production company is in the process of casting additional actors, with filming set to begin in October.
On the other hand, Yasmine Abdel Aziz’s new series, tentatively titled “Wataqabil Habib,” will be part of the Ramadan 2025 TV season. The show is written by Egyptian author Amr Mahmoud Yassin and produced by “Synergy.”
Yasmine Abdel Aziz’s last appearance was in “Darb Nar,” which she starred in alongside her ex-husband Ahmed El Awady during the Ramadan 2023 season.
Additionally, Yasmine recently shared a video on her Instagram account that garnered significant attention from her followers. In the video, the Egyptian star is seen enjoying her vacation in Greece, adorned with a lot of jewelry and showcasing a significant weight loss.
