The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Responds to Allegations Made by Israeli Finance Minister

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement describing allegations made by the Israeli Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich as “Inflammatory, unacceptable and reveals a hunger for killing,”

This statement was made by the Ministry’s spokesperson after the Israeli Finance Minister stated that “Egypt holds considerable responsibility for the October 7th attack” during a meeting with his zionist party on Monday.

This resulted in the Ministry’s spokesperson releasing a statement condemning the far-right minister’s allegations to be “disgraceful and irresponsible”.

The statement reads “It’s very unfortunate and shameful that the Israeli Finance Minister continues to make inflammatory and irresponsible claims that only reveal a hunger for killing, destruction, and sabotage any attempt to contain the situation in Gaza,”

The spokesman also considered that such statements are completely unacceptable, as Egypt has complete control over its territory and does not allow any party to involve Egypt’s name in any failed attempt to justify its shortcomings.

Abu Zeid confirmed, during a phone call with Amr Adeeb, on the “Al-Hekaya” program broadcast on MBC Misr channel, on Monday evening, that Egypt is the one who fought terrorism, and there is no room for the nonsense that some people talk about regarding Egypt’s responsibility.

He also explained that the Israeli ambassador is not present in Egypt most of the time, and there is an Egyptian embassy in Tel Aviv that transmits messages directly, stressing that Egypt will not fall into the trap of verbal wars.
