In recent days, speculation has swirled online regarding the Egyptian government’s alleged plans to sell national airports to foreign entities. These rumors suggested a shift in ownership that sparked widespread discussion and concern among the public.
However, the Egyptian Cabinet’s Media Center took an action to address these rumors. The media center reached out to the Ministry of Civil Aviation which denied the claims. According to the Ministry, there is no truth to the allegations that the Egyptian government intends to sell anything to foreign parties.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation further clarified the situation by emphasizing the current ownership and governance structure of the airports. It stated that all Egyptian airports are fully owned by the state and remain under its sovereign control.
Despite these reassurances, the Ministry did acknowledge ongoing plans related to the operation of the airports. In a move toward modernization and efficiency, the government is exploring options to privatize the management and operation aspects of the airport facilities.
