The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities responded to the circulation of a video showing rain falling on the statue of King Ramses II in the Egyptian Museum, stating that rumors of flooding and danger to the statue are false.
General Atef Moftah, the supervisor of the Grand Egyptian Museum project and the surrounding area, confirmed that the rumors about the danger of the rain causing harm to the statue are not true. He pointed out that the statue of Ramses II has not and will not be affected by rainwater, and that the museum and all its spaces are in the best state of preservation.

Major General Atef Moftah confirmed that the rain is a natural and expected occurrence that was planned for during the design and implementation of the museum, and does not pose any danger to the museum or its collections. He also noted that the rain falling on the Grand Hall area is due to the architectural and engineering design of the open hall of the museum, and that there is no flaw in the implementation of this design or the construction of the museum.
